The Napoleon Cat
is a new cat breed
that
has extremely short legs and
possesses a round pleasing face
with large round eyes.
It is a new hybrid breed produced
from
a cross of the Munchkin with the Persian breed
resulting in a short-legged cat
with
the old-fashioned Persian baby doll-face and body type.

The Napoleon Cat is a true hybrid meaning that they
are a good mix of both of their parent groups; i.e. the Persian Breed Group and the Munchkin Breed Group.
The Napoleon cats DO:
*
have the round faces, cobbier bodies, and round eyes of the Persian.
*have the short
legs, smaller bodies, and any/all colors of the Munchkins.
BUT...The Napoleon cats DON'T:
*have the
snub noses, protruding brow ridges, and excessive coats of the Persian.
*have
the domestic looking face, long noses, larger ears, and long bodies of the Munchkins.

| Regular-legged Version |
The Napoleons comes in two versions - the unique "short-legged" version that the breed is known for
BUT ALSO a regular-legged version that we refer to as "longlegs" or "non-standards." Both versions have
"THE LOOK" - that round baby doll face with the sweet expression. Usually both versions are produced in each litter.
Both are considered full-fledged Napoleons though we classify them in their own category for show or breed purposes. Many
people flock to these "regular-legged" Napoleons because they remind them of that old-fashioned Persian look that
they knew when they were young. The modern-day Persian cat has evolved into a drastically different looking cat with a pekinese
type face. The Napoleons treasure this sweet look.
